After struggling offensively throughout the season opener, the Algoma High School girls basketball team finally found a spark late to rally past Green Bay West. With 4:10 to go in the fourth quarter, the Wolves trailed 41-35 before going on an 11-2 run keyed by an "and one" free throw for a traditional three-point play plus two jumpers from behind the arc.
Forward Hanna Wiese led the team with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sydney Zimmerman had seven points. Algoma evens their record at 1-1 while Green Bay West falls to 0-3 on the season. The next game for the Wolves is against Gibraltar on Tuesday night with the tip at 7:30 PM in Algoma.
