The Kewaunee High School boys’ basketball team raced out to a 44-28 halftime lead at Gibraltar Saturday afternoon in Fish Creek before coasting to a 78-63 victory. Ryan Carmichael led the Storm with 28 points. The win puts Kewaunee back into a first place tie in the Packerland Conference with Sturgeon Bay. Both teams are 10-1 in league play.
For Kewaunee, the next two games are non-conference and a rematch with Southern Door (9-2) is the final game of the regular season. Kewaunee and Sturgeon Bay have split their regular season matchups already. There is still a very real possibility that the final standings could have a three-way tie at the top.
Kewaunee faces winless Mishicot Tuesday. Gibraltar is at NEW Lutheran in a potential playoff preview.
